Weather forecast: Hot spell to continue with rains in Upper Areas

Weather ISLAMABAD: Mainly hot and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country during next 24 hours while light rain-thunderstorm is likely at a few places Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, FATA, Kashmir and its adjoining areas. Rainfall was forecast in Malakand, Hazara,Sargodha divisions, upper FATA, Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas during this time duration. A westerly wave is affecting  upper and central parts of the country and likely to move eastward during next 12 hours, an official of Met office Rashild Bilal told APP. In last 24 hours weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds occurred at scattered places in Punjab & FATA while at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara divisions and Kashmir. Rainfall recorded during this time span was FATA: Parachinar 24, Punjab: Sialkot (Cantt) 13,Joharabad 12, Sahiwal 09, Mianwali 08, Gujranwala, Lahore 06, Sargodha 05, Kasur 04, Okara 02, D.G.Khan 01, Kashmir: Rawalakot 14,Garidupatta 06, K.P: Mirkhani 02, Drosh, Dir and Balakot 01. Highest temperatures recorded on Sunday were Shaheed Benazirabad,Dadu 45øC and Sibbi, Larkana, Padidan,Turbat 44øC. --APP
